People of Bagan

Many are not from that area.

For people in Bagan the only employment is in the tourist business, which is a very seasonal one and the cottage industry which is again depending on the visitors. But this could change now (2016) since much more traveler arrive on their Myanmar sightseeing trip.

But the major problem why they there is nothing beside of tourism is people are just lazy and have no fantasy, why? Beside of Bagan is the Irrawaddy (Ayeyarwady) River. There is an abundance of water throughout the year but nobody is using it which result in a very arid area everywhere around nobody is interested to pump the water a bit up and having a blooming landscape.

Just watch the picture above, it look like an African savanna and is just a few hundred meter away from the big river. When I imagine what the Israeli are doing with the desert and this lazy bumps who have the water and do nothing it puzzles me. 

The government people are traveling around in the world asking for donations and at the same time building totally useless government palaces in Naypyidaw a bit further south and wasting their time there with fruitless bla-bla without any results, just for the sake of "political" nonsense it's a real shame. 

And nobody should tell that's a matter of the military all of the political caste is doing that. Even until now they haven't been able to implement simple and efficient visa regulation like in Thailand or Cambodia etc. e.g. they just pass the visa handling to some cronies at the computer creating a artificial expensive bottleneck and the rest of the country cant receive travelers (2016) via land border crossings without a visa from the consulate as it since 60 years. What has changed? The prices went up.
