Liquor from toddy palm syrup

That is a hard drink.


The drink reaches between 60 and 80% alcohol and is quite sweet. It is the type of alcoholic beverages intoxicating people easily, even in small quantities. Although in Buddhism this has a negative images people just do it to relax from the tensions of everyday. 

In this part of the country are no bars, pubs or anything similar. For the local level it is not cheap either either, people just like it, other drink Myanmar beer. But not so many since beer should be cooled, but out there is no electricity to get the temperature down. They fill the liquor into empty bottles which have been used before and get happy or maybe not since the hangover is a bad one. Anyway, that's exotic "moon-shining".

Actually it’s moon-shining in the countryside; first they take the toddy palm syrup blend it with another liquid. Have it fermented make alcohol out of it and get it distilled. 

Have the fermented liquid distilled and fill it up
